                     Department at Glance

Establishment: - The Department of Zoology was established in 1967.

Introduction: -             

 The Department has completed 50 years of establishment. The first batch of B. Sc. Zoology Degree passed out in 1987. It is recognized Research Center for M. Phil. And Ph. D. by Shivaji University, Kolhapur from June 2012 at present 12 research students are working for their M. Phil and Ph. D. degree under 7 research guides. The department started Postgraduation Center (Animal Physiology) from June 2018.At present it has specious and well-equipped laboratories with advanced research instruments. The department has organized six national conferences funded by UGC and CSTT HRD Ministry, New Delhi, five one day workshops based on revised syllabus sponsored by Shivaji University, Kolhapur and seven workshops under lead college activity. Department has completed one major, six minor research projects funded by University Grants Commission and one minor research projects is ongoing funded by Shivaji University Kolhapur. The faculty members were participated in various international conferences at Abroad and in national conferences also.  Dr. R. G. Patil honored with emeritus fellow by UGC Delhi and lifetime achievement award, Dr. V. B. Supugade and Dr. Mrs. S. M. Pawar honored with distinguish researcher. Dr. P. P. Yadav was honored in their social work by NGO. There are two University rankers of the Department. The department run five value aided skill-based courses for students.

          Department has sufficient infrastructure facility for research and to engage classes for theory and practical of undergraduate and postgraduate students and better library services, sufficient internet connectivity is provided to the department. The department has good infrastructure facilities.

          The alumni of department are achieving the higher position at different places in country. They show strong bond with the department by donating various reference books and useful goods. Department has computerized alumni data from year 2005.
