Programme of Wildlife Week
“ज्ञान, विज्ञान आणि सुसंस्कार यासाठी

Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha Kolhapur. Our college Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Arts, Science & Commerce Satara is one of the leading centers of Sanstha’
affilated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
It’s my pleasure
to extend a cardinal welcome to respected dignitaries, chief guest, President
of this function invites, participants and students.

Zoology and Botany of Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Arts, Science and
Commerce, Satara Celebrates Wildlife Week from 2nd to 8th
October. Theme of Wildlife Week for this year is “Recovering key species for ecosystem restoration’’. Inauguration
ceremony jointly organized by Department of Zoology and Botany.
The inauguration of Wildlife Week was
carried out by the auspicious hands of chief guest Mr. Mahadev Mohite, Deputy Conservator
of Forest, Satara Forest Division.
The inaugural function was started
with introductory speech of
Mr.S.A.Mohite, Head of Dept. of Botany. Sir gave information about the
wildlife week, what is exact meaning of conservation, its types like In-situ,
Ex-citu etc. He elaborated that Satara region come under western ghat, which is
zone of hottest Biodiversity, Kaas Plateau of flowers. The natural season of
flowering is delay due to seasonal activity, so lots of research held on Kaas
plateau.
The inauguration of this programme was
carried out by the auspicious hands of Chief Guest Mr. Mahadev Mohite (Deputy
conservator of Forest). He delivered informative lecture on Conservation of
Nature. All participants are influenced by chief guest’s informative speech. He
messages to all participants to use minimum resources, learn to accept simple
living is best method to conserve nature.
Principal Dr. R.V.Shejawal,
Administrative Secretary, Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur
gives presidential address. He guided about purpose of celebration of Different
days in world wild week.
The
valedictory ceremony was concluded by vote of Thanks delivered by Dr.V.S.
Jadhav.He thanked Chief Guest Mr.Mahadev Mohite (Deputy Conservater of Forest).
Hon.Principal Dr.R.V. Shejwal sir, H.O.D. of Botany & Zoology dept. all
faculty members, non-Teaching staff & all students.
The response was wonderful for
this programme.
In this program 110 Students with 12
teachers were actively participated.
